York's always doing stuff like that. North isn't normally bothered too much by it but for some reason the way he just started off by touching him kind of annoys him. "Theta's doing good. Got him settled in with a movie and Delta's there with him."

"Sounds good. Delta's been enjoying them as examples of the human narrative interest." He's not sure if Theta will take to them quite the same, but the little AI that could and did always manages to surprise him. Who knows. When Norths' beer arrives York lifts his in a toast. "To not worrying about anything."

"Heh." If only it were that simple. "At least...not very many things." He's teasing though, shows it through a half-wink, and tips his bottle in York's direction before taking a drink.

"I'll take it." Fewer worries is good. The taps the bottoms of their beers together before taking a sip, settling back against the bar. Shots next, probably. Maybe he could talk North into wiping the floor with him at darts. "Can't believe it's New Years already."

"Things have been going by too fast." He'd barely shown up here before they had the solstice and Christmas, and then came the whole disaster of their armor testing... New Year's had to be a chance to take a breath and then start fresh, right?

"Maybe shit'll be better next year. I mean. The dome's been up for about twenty and it wasn't always this crazy. We can only cause so much trouble." Hypothetically speaking. A few days to breathe would be great. God knows they all needed it.

"We being the immune, I take it?"

"Yep. I mean D4 is full of awesome little shit stirrers but they've been keeping to themselves for years." The Immune are the real problem, to Bifrons.

"Not just that, from what I can tell—they've been allowed to keep to themselves. Or do I gauge that wrong?"

"...No, that's about right. That worries me more, actually." But tonight is not worrying, he'll worry later.

Twenty years of that, it's going to bite everyone in the ass, not just the leadership. But instead of saying that North shakes his head. "It's going to be hard to avoid talking about stuff like that."

"Yeah. But we can kinda try? I dunno. They're doing better but there are still people that are turning up sick." It could spread. It could be nothing, could be the contagion.

He pauses, ruminating over his drink. "I don't like it. I know, what is there to like about it? But...I don't know, it seems like there's something more there than meets the eye."

"I can dig around next time I swing through. They've calmed down a lot, I would have thought after the Loki thing and the XXX lookalike they'd have been in an uproar but there's...nothing." It's weirding him out.

So much for not talking about this kind of stuff. They should have known better, he supposes. "Maybe they're still recovering from the weather."

"Maybe. That's probably it. Focus on the things you can change, right? Less so on the shit you can't." That's how he'd rationalized so much back home. Less so here.

"You and I both know that's easier said than done."

"Frigg'n impossible sometimes." Beer's done. Shots? Shots. Shots. He taps the bar for a few.

North's been nursing his drink a bit slower but he speeds up then so he can join in, if they're breaking out the shots. "I think people are so busy looking out for them and theirs that they don't have the energy for anything else."

"That I get. That's part of why I was so hell bent on getting the suits handled. To take care of mine. AND!" he tosses back a shot. "The rest of yours will be done like. Tomorrow I think? Stark got the measurements right this time."

"It's been like three days." How does this man do these things so fast? It makes North wonder about the quality of the work.

"The design's modular and he's got these robots that fabricate shit for him so he can work on more than one thing. It's crazy." Three day turnaround's not half bad.

"Still. I want to put mine through its paces." Because at this point he absolutely didn't trust this equipment without testing it to its full extent.

"No problem. I can clear a field for running it through the usual tests whenever you want. Sound good?" Less snow to work with but, hey, the hay is still around and should be good enough for basic testing.

"Yeah." He takes the shot that's been set before him and slams it back. "I feel like I've kept up with my strength pretty well, doing work, but I need to get more time in shooting."
