Oh thank god he couldn't manage to keep himself upright much longer. Taylor slumps against David, shivering and twitching through the aftershocks of both of their orgasms, nosing at the side of his throat just to have something to do. Something to ground him after he flew so goddamn high out of his own skin. "Mmmmmn."
That makes Wash groan, because fuck, he's still inside him and still feels every movement. He turns his head a little to catch Taylor's lips in a brief, lazy kiss. "s'good," he manages, and that is about the most intelligible thing he can manage right now.
He makes a soft hum of agreement, and presses his lips against Taylor's cheek, his temple, whatever bit of skin he can reach. He just wants to be close right now, and it strips him of most of the walls that he's had up.
CLose is good. Close is awesome. He sighs and buries his face in David's skin, letting the endorphins wash over him and strip away all the aches, pains, and paranoid thoughts that make life annoying for him as of late.
It's so easy. He can almost imagine that they've done it, run away. Found some place quiet and out of the way to live their lives. He can feel Taylor's breath against his skin. He could fall asleep like this. Doesn't want to though. Doesn't want to miss even a moment. He wraps his arms around Taylor, holding him close, fingers trailing idly along his spine.
He'll have to move eventually. To pull away enough for David to pull out and curl up on his side because he just gave his thighs a hell of a workout. Squats? Naw, bra, riding a bro is how to do it. Apparently. He shivers through the next sigh, moving enough to shift David inside him and oh god that's too much okay gonna hold still for awhile longer.
Wash groans when he tries to move. He makes a tired noise of protest, his grip tightening, and buries his face against the top of Taylor's head. No movement. Not yet. He's too comfortable.
Fine, fine. No moving. He curls up as best he can on David's chest, breathing as he comes down from that high. Soon words come back, the sticky mess where he'd come all over David's stomach is starting to glue him in place, and he becomes dimly aware that he hadn't put a condom on him before he started riding which meant the next trip to the bathroom is gonna be real fun.
Other than that, though, he's content. "You okay, kid?"
Pretty soon this is gonna get kind of gross. Sweat and come and skin is not generally a good combination to leave for very long. But yeah, right now he's comfortable and happy. He's happy. "Yeah, I'm okay," he murmured. "That was... it was awesome."
"I am awesome, yes." He snickers against David's skin, content to linger for a little while longer. They got about five or six more minutes before skin glue really becomes a concern. "Blew your mind, huh?"
"And so modest," Wash replied, flashing him a grin. "Yeah. Best night I've had in... ever, i think," he says. Man, that's a little hard to admit. But it's true. "At least since Casbah."
"You were supposed to end with 'best night ever of all time', dork." Taylor props himself up on his elbows and grins down at him, fingers combing through his hair. "That's- a good long while, kid."
"Not a cliche, that's your catchphrase. It's different." It's adorable and he's missed hearing that- missed David's smile, his laugh. He misses everyone but- David's the one that survived. That's had to live with surviving. It's enough for him. "Till this is over. Then? Beach house. Surfing."
"I'm not a cartoon character Taylor," Wash groaned, but it didn't diminish his smile any although it fades a little at his next words. Once he'd wanted to be a great hero of humanity, and now? Now he just wanted a beach house. He wasn't going to get either.
"Yeah. Yeah that's right. You promised me a cat, remember."
"Mhmm. Cat and surfing lessons." He can manage that, he's pretty sure. Just have to end a civil war first, get the treaty hammered out, and keep everyone alive.
Compared to what he had to do in the project it seems like cake.
"C'mon. We need to clean up and sleep for tomorrow. Got a big op to run."
"Yeah- about that." He sits up slow, pulling away and pulling David out of him gently, shivering all the while. "I don't think it'll be a problem tomorrow but- if it comes down to it and we get separated? Get the kids and Kimball out of whatever the hell's gone balls up no matter where I am, okay?"
"Okay, that sounds ominous," Wash says, narrowing his eyes at Taylor. He gasps when Taylor pulls off him, laments the loss. He pushes himself up onto his elbows, watching him. "You know something that I don't?"
"Nope. Just need to make sure we're clear on this. They come first. Get them out." He knows there's an inherent, branded in reaction to get their own skins out of the fire first and foremost after all this time, but he needs David to be on the same page as him here. "No matter what. Promise me."
He nods, and it's a lie. He hates himself for it, feels the chill start to creep into him. "Yeah. I promise. I'll do whatever it takes to keep them safe."
It just might not be what York thinks he's going to do.
"Not fair? David, nothing's fair. I don't think this shit's gonna be a problem but I'd rather have it figured out beforehand than get a nasty surprise later." Like South. Like Tex. Like Connie. "...Deal."

He smiles back, turns his face into the petting. "Well, after that stuff really got going with the Project and... shit happened. And here I am."

He stretches a little and nods. "Yeah. You're right. Can't show up for the kids looking exhausted. Bad for morale."
