Smut, Gen, Angst, Fluff, Anything, Everything. PFL era, Post war, Pre Canon, AU, whichever Brackets or Prose whatever you're comfortable with Tag and go, baby!
"Yeah- about that." He sits up slow, pulling away and pulling David out of him gently, shivering all the while. "I don't think it'll be a problem tomorrow but- if it comes down to it and we get separated? Get the kids and Kimball out of whatever the hell's gone balls up no matter where I am, okay?"
"Okay, that sounds ominous," Wash says, narrowing his eyes at Taylor. He gasps when Taylor pulls off him, laments the loss. He pushes himself up onto his elbows, watching him. "You know something that I don't?"
"Nope. Just need to make sure we're clear on this. They come first. Get them out." He knows there's an inherent, branded in reaction to get their own skins out of the fire first and foremost after all this time, but he needs David to be on the same page as him here. "No matter what. Promise me."
He nods, and it's a lie. He hates himself for it, feels the chill start to creep into him. "Yeah. I promise. I'll do whatever it takes to keep them safe."
It just might not be what York thinks he's going to do.
"Not fair? David, nothing's fair. I don't think this shit's gonna be a problem but I'd rather have it figured out beforehand than get a nasty surprise later." Like South. Like Tex. Like Connie. "...Deal."
He snorts, turns his head aside. Why is he even making a big deal out of this, when he's not going to be here tomorrow? "I know. You're right, I just-" Finally has someone he cares about and now he's going to abandon him and being *asked* to abandon him is worse.
"Don't like thinking about having to bail. I know." He shuffles back up on the bed, taking David's chin in his hand and turning his face to look him in the eye. "It's probably not gonna come to that. I got your back, you got mine, we got Kimball's. We'll get this done. Ok babe?"
"...well now that I've gone and ruined the afterglow..." He sighs and leans down, pressing his kiss softly, sweetly against David's. He just- wanted them on the same page. Timing is for shit, though. "Let's shower. I'll scrub your back."
"Always knew you couldn't read the atmosphere." The kiss is better and he hooks an arm around Taylor's neck, clinging to him just a bit. "Maybe tomorrow you could scrub other parts."
"Tomorrow I will give you a full body massage when we get back, mm? How's that sound?" Seems like David needs it. He leans into the kiss, dragging his hands through his hair. "C'mon. We gotta be quick so we don't get seen."
"Oh god, how can I refuse an offer like that?" He lets the kiss linger as long as he can, and then presses another to his cheek. He reluctantly rolls out of bed and stretches. "Mmm, that would just add fuel to the fire."
"See the thing is, you're gonna get dressed before you run out, arne't you?" Taylor's not even grabbing shoes. Just his towel and body wash. "I'm not."
"Sounds like a personal problem rookie. Are you ready?" This. This is insane and crazy and just the right kind of bullshit to get them out of that weird, maudlin headspace he'd punted them into.
It is not really a skill that Wash has had cause to perfect and fuck, that does kind of hurt. He arrives at the showers after York, glaring at the other man. "You are insane."
"I am crazy like a fox." He crackles a laugh, tugging David deeper into the showers before hitting the water. "Come on, show me where it hurts, I'll kiss it better."

There's a lump in his throat. It's hard to swallow around.
