"I was a boy scout." Be prepared- probably not what they meant, having lube on hand. Or lockpicks. Or bump keys for encrypted locks. Or any number of things of questionable use and legality he keeps on hand just in case. It's saved him more than once.
Wash wrinkles his nose at that, giving York a sceptical look. "You? A boy scout? Like, with the tiny shorts and neckerchief?" He tilts his head as though imagining it. "Nah, doesn't suit you."
But it certainly is useful so he's not going to protest too hard if York pulls that card.
Wash stares at him for a moment, looking very taken aback by that particular revelation. He's never really thought of York in that kind of getup. When you spend your life in armour, it's weird to think of someone wearing civvies beyond sweats. "Maybe you'll have to show us sometime," he says finally, and Carolina nods in agreement.
He snorts softly and shakes his head, then leans in to kiss York.
"THey're in the bag somewhere-" And then he's got more important things. Like Wash's mouth no his mouth, like Carolina's hands in his hair guiding him to angle like this and hold still like that so Wash can get the kiss in deeper, sweeter.
So she can watch him shudder and sigh, hands slipping down to tug Wash's hips up against his and grind.
"I'll drag them out later," Wash says, but that is definitely a concern for another day when York's mouth is so warm and Carolina's hands are so firm where she strokes his back. And then York is pulling him close so they can rock against each other. It makes him moan, and he's not bothering to hold back right now. He needs them to know how much he wants them both.
"Right now- less clothes. You too, Carolina." York is already mostly naked- taking the time to get all the way naked is nothing. Less that a serpentine roll and a twist of the hip before he's bare and hard and tugging off Wash's sweats, skating his hands up under his shirt to peel it off, sparing a hand to do the same to Carolina. Probably not the best way to discipline them, but hey. It'll work.
Wash laughs and then wriggles to help York pull down his sweats. Carolina's hands are on his hips, helping to shove them down until they're lost somewhere in the room. The shirt is next, peeled off over his head until he's totally naked. It's a very different kind of nudity to that in the showers. He wants them to look this time, even if it makes him feel a little awkward. They've both seen everything, but it feels different.
He sits back and watches Carolina strip, tugging off her shirt to expose pert breasts and toned legs and strong muscles. It makes his mouth go dry.
"God. Damn." York has to lean back for a second just to look at them both. Making out and dressed? Ok, fine. Naked and gorgeous. "I'm...gonna need a minute."
More than one because jesus christ. Scars or not, marks of having survived or not- these are two of his favorite people, alive, naked, and wanting him.
Carolina rolls her eyes, but she's looking too. gaze trailing over them both. Wash isn't much different, looking between them like he can't believe that this is real.
Eventually Carolina leans in to capture York's lips in a hard kiss, one designed to remind him of where he is, that all of this is real.
"Mmph!" Right. This is a thing. He laughs against her lips, leaning in, hands sweeping up from hips to shoulders to hair, combing his fingers through all that gorgeous red. For however long, he's got this. He's got them.
Carolina leans into the touches, pressing York down against the bed as she straddles him. She's got him back. Something that she never thought she'd have. It doesn't make everything better, but it sure as hell helps.
Wash flops down next to York, taking his time to touch him while Carolina keeps him occupied.
"I think she's got a plan-" He huffs between kisses, leaning back and slipping a hand out to catch against Wash's skin. Shoulder, arm, wrist, hair- it doesn't matter as long as he's got something to ground him. A reminder that these aren't ghosts.
They've got scars, they've got wounds- but they're alive. Got hell to pay for what they've all done by hiding or trying to keep moving forward bu- they'll make it.
Wash laughs and then leans in when York reaches out towards him, encouraging his mostly blind search. His hand ends up in Wash's hair, scuffing against his scalp, and Wash nuzzles close, needing the contact as much as York does.
"Don't I always?" Carolina asks, smiling down at them both.

Or. Well.
Made life better like this.
"Well I've always been the pretty one."

"You don't think I'm pretty?" he asks, grinning.

They're good for days when he dosn't quite want to be naked but doesn't want to be wearing too much.
"Nah. I think you're adorable."
