"And other gifted and not so mortal will be able to see me?" He might wanna work on that. Being the mythology guy is one thing. Being the MAGIC guy? That...is gonna be a pain in the ass.

Oh well.

Shower, shave, lay out clothes. Gonna go do that now. He gives the cat a scritch of the ears and Carolina a crooked smile before slipping into his bedroom to start the aforementioned showering and shaving.

"Those that exist walk amongst you, or live alongside unnoticed. Most humans have some glimmer of power, but it often goes unnoticed. Not enough to use, or train. But you've been developing your skill now. You will stand out a little more."

Had likely stood out a great deal as a child - though binding his power? Hmm, well. "Given you're a male with power, some will no doubt try to test your strength. Or.." She raises her voice a little, wickedly teasing. "Watch out, or you'll likely find yourself fending off covens of witches." Who'll find his body an attractive package to his more attractive abilities.

York with a harem. Well, wouldn't be the first time she had a pact with someone that had one of those.

"You mean for providing a strong bloodline?" He pokes his head out of the bathroom, foam still on his face, razor in hand. "That sounds like a really weird problem to have."

Being chased for being strong. That sounds kinda hot. Also like a hassle. "How would I ever know if they liked me for ME?" He mock whines, resuming his slow, careful motions of the razor over his throat.

"Yes." She looks amused. "How you determine such a thing will be entirely for you to worry about." Amongst other problems.

"But for tonight, you won't have anything to be concerned about."

"Learn a little magic and suddenly I'm the hot girl in highschool. Huh. Remind me to write a letter of apology to Karen." Not that he knew where she lived anymore, but the reminder would make him feel a little less like an ass.

"Why would you write a letter when you have tablets and computers?"

"Letter's are more personal! It shows sincerity."

"Hmmm." If you say so, York. Resettling the cat on her lap, the tablet's apps are flipped between, until she finds the fictional biography of the wizard he had mentioned. Why children would care for such things was beyond her. But it seemed long enough to hold some level of distraction.

Shower, shave, jeans. JEans? Jeans. Slacks? Jesus it's been so long since he last. Towel around his waist, scarring on his chest and shoulder a neat continuation of the marks on his visible in full light for the first time proooobably in awhile, he walks back through to his bedroom. "Do I wear the fuck me pants or the 'bro jeans'?"

Carolina doesn't look up right away, not until she reaches an appropriate end to a paragraph. If her gaze snaps to the scarring, he won't notice it linger, not while one of her wings shift to lift a wing knuckle and rest her cheek against it.

"What sort of end goal do you want for the night?" Seems to her like that's the more important thing to keep in mind.

"...good point!" Fuck me pants it is. Still jeans just- a little more worn, a little soft, but they cradle his ass like no one's business and make his business look good. That and a casual tee that's a little tight around the shoulders and he's feeling good enough to walk out to Carolina and give her a turn. "I think I'm good. You?"

Her talons splay over her lips as he steps on out to twirl on the nonexistant catwalk. As humans go, he was certainly a specimin, scars and all, and there's a smirk of approval for him once he's facing her again. "I won't worry about waiting up," she teases.

"Awesome!" Sure does give himself a little fist pump. Looking good isn't something he really thought too much about when he'd gotten back. He figured he wouldn't. Hasn't thought of himself as 'the pretty one' in a long time but it feels nice to have that confidence back. "Spicy Thai. Plum wine to go with it or do you wanna try some of their sodas?"

"Wine will do," plum or other wise. It helps offset too much spice, not that she's ever had much fear of that. That he's looking confident is good. She hopes it lasts.

She'd no doubt get to see what sort of date he'd found for sport come morning. "I wouldn't recommend having any until you've eaten, and water besides. Depending on how long you expect your sporting to last."

"Oh no, I'm gonna stick to water and tea till then." A beat. "...Do you have, um. Tips on how to make the sporting last?"

He's got a few of his own and he used to have a solid rep as a people pleaser but it has been AWHILE. Concerned York is Concerned.

Ridged brows merely lift at him. "I am not a succubus." Or human, for that matter. Never mind how long it's been since anyone wanted to do that with her..! "But, I suppose, if you spend the time on them before sating yourself..?"

A shrug. Practice, York, practice!

"I'm gonna need some cherry stems. Or starburst. I think starburst are harder." He digs around the cupboards till he finds a pack he'd shoved back there the week before, popping a whole wrapped one into his mouth.

Humans could be very strange. Her only response to his declaration is a quizzical head tilt, before back to her ebook she goes.

It takes him a few moments to remember the trick but soon enough he's smirking and pulling the wrapper from his lips, unfolded and all in one piece. "Ha! Still got it."

"If you say so," what a wrapper had to do with anything was beyond her guess. "Though you might want to get that order done now, if the delivery will take a while."

They could always leave it on the doorstep, of course, but that seems rather undignified.

"Right, I'll call it in." He tucks the candy into his cheek and dials the number by memory- sure he could keep it in his cell phone but the tests for retention kinda stuck even this long after the incident. Besides.

It made him feel better to know it.

One spicy order of beef pad kee mao, bottle of plum wine and candied mango ordered up. In the meantime he tries (and fails) to focus on research for the next video.

"You are good with numbers," she notes absently, moving past heritage revelations and on to a chapter about shopping, while York handles dinner for her. "That is good. A strong memory will allow you to recall spells later, when needed."

Not that he's worried about that when he's more worried about date possibilities. His fidgeting and lack of concentration does draw a sigh from her eventually, however. "So. Have you decided where to take her yet?"

"A concussive blast to the skull leaves a guy with the potential for memory problems. So they made a point for me to pick up habits that' make getting those difficult." Constant repetition of some patterns but- it's been awhile since he had to lean on them for anything big. He's good.

He's actually doing GOOD. Better than he has in awhile. It's a nice change.

"Well she's really into eating vegetarian so I thought the nice Punjabi place a few blocks away would be good. Have a little curry, come home for dessert..." Oh man he's gonna get laid. It's gonna be AWESOME.

"They train -- trained -- young mages in such things to ensure they could recall perfectly that which the began incantations for you." Almost a pity he hadn't done the same when summoning her. Then again, he might have sent her back if he had.

This far, things were working out better than for worse.

There's a snicker at the mention of dinner plans in full. At least this is something he can focus on, since his work is slacking. "Should I bind your room for silence? Or do you care who hears you enjoying dessert?"

"...can you do that? I think you, um. Could? Because I don't wanna be that guy that has his lady making noise and keeping everyone else up. If I'm gonna be a bit of a brag about it." And he could. Would. Will. He's got a mouth on him, does York. And he does like to use it.
