Kimball looked uncertain at that, and glanced at Wash. Wash shrugged.

"That might take a while," Wash said, rubbing the back of his neck, an old habit. "The feds have a habit of shooting down any ship that tries to leave. Not sure how they're doing it but... it's been pretty effective so far."
